"Really sensational success!"

" ... a kind of journey through the non-European rhythmical cultures, from China to Brazil, and each movement has its own unique color"
- Nezavisimaya Gazeta, June 9, 2005

The bilingual song cycle "there", written for Ukrainian-born American soprano Julia Kogan and the Chamber Orchestra Kremlin in 2007, is based on Joseph Brodsky's Russian and English poems. The cycle received its premiere at the Pavel Slobodkin Centre, Moscow (June, 2007) and its American premiere at Weill Recital Hall, New York (February, 2008).

"I think Joseph would have been pleased to hear his words set so beautifully."

"Tishchenko and Bekmambetov use polystylistic writing in fresh ways, and each piece proved thoroughly absorbing - especially when played with such warmth and tight ensemble by this all-string orchestra, under its founder, Misha Rachlevsky."
- Washington Post, February 18, 2008

" ... a sort of musical theater piece with lyrical, thick orchestral textures, was at times redolent of Shostakovich, Piazzolla and Weill."
